According to Reuters, Toyota Motor Corp announced last month that it would recall 6.39 million vehicles globally after uncovering five different faults involving parts ranging from steering to seats.

The manufacturer said that it is not aware of any crashes or injuries caused by the defects, which were found in 27 Toyota models, including 2009-10 Corollas, 2009-10 Matrixs, 2008-10 Highlanders, 2009-10 Tacomas, 2006-8 RAV4s and 2006-10 Yaris vehicles.

Toyota said the recall involves an “electrical connection with a spiral cable assembly that could become damaged when the steering wheel is turned.” This issue could illuminate an air bag warning light and could disable the driver’s air bag.

It should be noted that on average, Toyota recalls more than five million vehicles annually in the United States, more than any other automaker.

What Should I Do If My Loved One is Injured or Killed in a Toyota Recall Car Accident?

Recalled vehicles can be a scary subject for owners, especially when it comes to an issue like an airbag defect. Aside from death, car accidents resulting from defective parts can result in catastrophic injuries like spinal cord injurytraumatic brain injury (TBI) or broken bones.

Do not allow your family member to become the victim of a defective vehicle. In addition to the Toyota recall, there is an ongoing General Motors recall of 2.6 million vehicles over defects, which have reportedly resulted in at least 13 deaths.
