During a freak accident, an unidentified pedestrian was injured when a car crashed into a Clarksville gas station on July 4, setting off an explosion.

According to WZTV-TV, a car crash caused an explosion at the Exxon at 715 South Riverside Drive. WZTV reported that driver John Ward lost control of his car and crossed into oncoming traffic, then crashed into a gas pump. The pump exploded causing a fire.

A person walking through the parking lot at the time of the crash managed to avoid the impact, but was badly burned by the fire. Police told WZTV that the burn injuries were non-life threatening and that they are investigating the crash.
