Nashville Meats Recalled for E. Coli Poisoning

Have you purchased any halal ground beef from the Baraka Bakery and Grocery store in Nashville? If you have, you need to check the packaging. Products processed and packaged between April 19 and April 26 of this year could be contaminated with E. coli. E. coli is a potentially deadly bacterium. Ingesting it can lead to dehydration, bloody diarrhea and abdominal cramps lasting two to eight days. Generally, people recover within a week. However, some develop what is known as hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS). HUS is a condition that can lead to kidney failure, nervous system damage and even death.
