Murfreesboro Motorcycle Accident Kills One

A man was killed on October 27 in a Murfreesboro motorcycle accident when a vehicle failed to yield to his right of way. Motorcyclist DeMorris Webb, 26, was attempting to make a right onto Indian Hills when a car in the oncoming lane failed to yield and pulled directly into Webb’s path. Webb attempted to brake and laid the bike over, sliding into the side of the oncoming vehicle. Webb was taken to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital and later flown by Life Flight to Vanderbilt where he was pronounced deceased. At the time of this report, charges have not been filed against the driver of the vehicle responsible for the accident and an investigation is still ongoing. Murfreesboro Man Killed In Kentucky Truck Accident

A Murfreesboro man was killed in a car accident in Gallatin County, Ky., after a horse trailer jackknifed on October 6 on southbound Interstate 71. According to WXIX-TV, the crash occurred around 8:30 a.m., near mile marker 68. Police told the station that 51-year-old Jeffrey Givens, of Murfreesboro, was traveling southbound in the left-hand lane of the interstate when the accident occurred. The horse trailer reportedly dipped off the highway, causing the truck to shift in the roadway and jackknife. The truck then struck a guardrail and came to rest on its top. Givens was trapped in the truck and died at the scene of the accident. A passenger in the truck, 53-year-old Tim Taylor of La Vergne, was also trapped in the truck and had to be extracted by emergency officials. Man Killed In Smyrna Nissan Plant Accident

According to WTVF-TV, a worker at the Nissan plant in Smyrna was killed in an accident on June 16. The station reports that 43-year-old Michael Hooper died in the accident that happened at 1:30 a.m. Hooper was maintenance technician, and worked for the company for 21 years, according to Nissan. Nissan has not released details about the accident. “Emergency response authorities are on-site and working to confirm details of the incident, which occurred in the body assembly area of the plant,” Nissan said in a press release. “The safety and well-being of our team members is Nissan’s top priority. The company is working with authorities to investigate [this] incident and is doing everything possible to support those affected in the aftermath of this devastating event,” the release read.
