Woman, Toddler Die in Nolensville Car Accident

According to WTVF-TV, one woman and a 4-year-old child were killed in a car accident last month in Nolensville. WTVF reported that the crash occurred on Nolensville Road, in South Nolensville, when 28-year-old Crystal Maier drove a black Honda into oncoming traffic. Investigators told WTVF that prior to the fatal crash, Maier’s vehicle clipped two cars before traveling a short distance and slamming head-on into another vehicle. In all, five vehicles were involved in the crash. Eileen Sorto, 4, was thrown from the backseat of a Nissan Maxima involved in the crash and died en route to a hospital. Maier died at the scene of the crash. Neither Sorto nor Maier were wearing seatbelts. Officials with the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) said that alcohol might have played a role in the crash. Truck Driver Charged With Aggravated Assault Following Franklin County Crash

According to the Associated Press, charges have been filed against a tractor-trailer driver who fled the scene of an accident that closed Interstate 81 in Franklin County for several hours on November 19. The AP reported that 41-year-old Ricky Lynn Hatfield of New Tazwell faces counts including aggravated assault while driving under the influence. Investigators said that Hatfield was driving erratically when he struck two disabled vehicles on the shoulder of the road. The drivers of the disabled vehicles were seriously injured. Hatfield reportedly fled the scene of the accident and was later found in a gas station bathroom. Teen Killed In Maury County Car Accident

According to WTVF-TV, a teenager was killed and three other people were injured in an October 15 car accident in Maury County. The television station reported that the accident occurred on Mount Olivet Road at King Road, around 6:30 p.m. The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) said that a 17-year-old male driver, who was not identified, was driving north on Mount Olivet Road in a 1997 Nissan Sentra with two other teens in the car, when  he crossed the center line into the path of a 1997 Chevrolet S10 in the southbound lanes. The front seat passenger in the Sentra, 15-year-old Kane Ragsdale, was killed. The THP said that he was not wearing a seatbelt. The driver of the vehicle and 17-year-old passenger Dillon J.
