What Caused This FedEx Driver to Slam Into Seven Cars?

Earlier this month, a FedEx truck slammed into one car and set off a terrible chain reaction on Interstate 24 West in Nashville. The car became wedged underneath the truck and dragged down the highway before it eventually dislodged and caught fire. According to the report, six other cars were struck by the FedEx truck before it finally came to a halt. The FedEx truck driver was cited for fatigued driving that day. The report said the driver logged more than 11 hours in less than 24 hours, which is the maximum truck drivers are legally allowed. Diesel Fuel Spills On Roadways After Driver Flees Truck Accident

A truck driver in La Vergne was lucky to escape with his life following a truck accident on May 3. Ames Larrysharn, a 33-year-old truck driver for Boyd Trucking, was arrested for leaving the scene of the accident. Larrysharn’s truck hit a storm culvert which ruptured the fuel tank. He stopped to remove the cover that caused the rupture and then fled the scene. Police discovered the spill shortly after 2 a.m., after responding to a call nearby. Authorities noticed the strong odor of gasoline in the area and saw a large amount of fuel that had pooled in a field and a large amount of fuel in the roadway. Emergency services then tracked the spill to a nearby TA truck facility. Luckily, fire crews were able to neutralize the spill in the road before a more serious incident occurred. Speeding Semi Cause for Truck Accident

A speeding semi caused a three-vehicle car accident on April 14 on US Route 11W. The crash occurred at 8 a.m. at the intersection of State Route 394. Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Robby Greer told the Kingsport Times-News that a Pontiac Grand Am and a Honda CRV were attempting to make a left turn when they were both struck on the driver side by the semi. Both vehicles had a green light when they were hit. The driver of the Pontiac had to be extricated from the wreckage and rushed to the hospital, but fortunately, neither she nor the driver of the Honda was seriously injured.
