According to WSMV-TV, a Giles County sheriff’s deputy and two other people were injured following a Nashville car accident on November 7.

The accident occurred around 7 p.m., when a Giles County police cruiser collided with a van near the 2600 block of Charlotte Avenue. WSMV reported that both of the vehicles involved in the crash were badly damaged.

Emergency crews reportedly had to cut the doors off the cruiser in order to get the trooper out. “Everyone was OK except my mom. Her back was hurting, and my brother’s girlfriend was in the car and her legs, chest and head are hurting, but everybody else was OK,” a passenger in the van told WSMV.

The crash remains under investigation. Officials have not said yet whether the sheriff’s deputy was transporting anyone or why they were in Davidson County, according to WSMV.
