Updating a blog post from last week, a Murfreesboro motorcycle accident killed a man on October 27 off South Church Street in front of the main entrance to the Indian Hills subdivision.

According to WGNS Radio, 26-year old motorcyclist DeMorris Webb was traveling towards Murfreesboro and attempted to turn right into Indian Hills when the wreck occurred. As Webb was turning, a car in the oncoming lane failed to yield to Morris and allegedly pulled into his direct path.

WGNS said that Webb locked up the brakes on his bike and laid the bike on the ground, sliding into the side of the oncoming car being driven by 33-year old from Bell Buckle. Webb, from Christiana, was transported to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital and later flown by Life Flight Helicopter to Vanderbilt where he was pronounced deceased.

Officials are still investigating the accident and charges are pending. As we reported on Monday, between 2004 and 2008, motorcycle crashes in Tennessee rose by an annual average of 9.2 percent. Aside from death, these crashes often result in serious personal injuries, including traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injuries, amputation and broken bones.
