There are approximately 150,000 car accidents in Tennessee each year, resulting in almost 1,000 fatalities.

When your loved one is involved in a fatal car accident, you should contact Nashville injury lawyer Stanley A. Davis. Through a wrongful death lawsuit, you can seek compensation that can help pay bills associated with your loved one’s loss, including medical bills and burial costs. You can also seek money for pain and suffering.

Unfortunately, many of these accidents are the result of drunk driving. Sadly, on August 2, a Clarksville man was killed and a woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident in Cheatham County.

The Ashland City Times reported that the accident occurred around 2 a.m., on Mosley Ferry Road near Pleasant View. According to the newspaper, the crash killed Kenneth S. Murray, 40, of Adams, while Larson D. Gafney, 42, of Clarksville, was injured.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) reported that Gafney was driving a 2014 Lincoln MKH, and Murray was a passenger. The Lincoln was traveling on Mosley Ferry Road at high speeds and came to a curve, which led to it leaving the road and hitting a tree. The Lincoln reportedly went airborne and flipped several times.

The accident remains under investigation. Blood alcohol samples were reportedly taken at the scene of the crash. Criminal charges are pending.

What Should I Do When My Loved One Is Killed in a Car Accident?

Through a wrongful death lawsuit, the recovery of economic damages can include the lost income from the deceased family member, medical expenses and funeral costs. As we mentioned earlier, this compensation can be extremely important for family members to offset costs associated with the death.

We have obtained million dollar settlements and verdicts for family members who have had loved ones injured or killed by negligent drivers. For more information, call us today.
