Whenever you read about wrong-way vehicle accidents, they often have disastrous outcomes leading to serious personal injuries and death. While wrong-way car accidents are rare, when they occur, drivers and passengers are 27 percent more likely to die in them than standard accidents.

It should be noted that most wrong-way accidents can be linked to drunk driving, medical emergencies, debris in roadways, defective vehicle products and confused drivers.

Sadly, on October 27, a Nashville man was killed in a wrong-way accident on Interstate 40 in Cheatham County. According to the Tennessean, the accident occurred around 11 p.m., in Kingston Springs.

Killed in the crash was 21-year-old Joshua Hampton, who investigators said was driving a 2001 Honda CRV on the wrong side of the interstate. The vehicle reportedly left the roadway and struck a guardrail.

A report by the Tennessee Highway Patrol said that toxicology reports are pending for the crash, which remains under investigation.

If your loved one dies in a wrong-way accident, you need to have his or her crash investigated. Again, these crashes can occur for a number of reasons, including drunk driving or defective auto parts.

If negligence played a role in your loved one’s crash, you could be entitled to damages. Call our Nashville car accident attorney today at (615) 866-3938 for a free consultation.
