According to Scripps Media, on June 1, a driver crashed a vehicle into a frozen yogurt shop in Green Hill.

The news outlet reported that the incident occurred at about 10:20 a.m., at Sweet Cece’s on Hillsboro Pike, by Hillsboro High School. The crash remains under investigation and the driver of the vehicle was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for injury treatment.

Photos from the accident scene showed the car sitting in the entrance of the store, with broken windows around it. The vehicle allegedly went through a brick wall before striking the front of the building.

Thankfully, the store was not open when the incident occurred, so no pedestrians were injured. Some witnesses interviewed by media outlets said that they believed the driver suffered a medical emergency prior to the accident.

CONTACTING AN ATTORNEY FOLLOWING A CAR CRASH

It is a relief that aside from the driver, nobody was injured in this accident. Although these types of crashes rarely occur, pedestrian accidents caused by drivers crashing into buildings can be fatal or lead to serious injuries. Victims can sustain traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries and amputations, as they are not expecting to be struck.

Often, these accidents are caused by reckless driving, alcohol impairment, the disregard of traffic signals or medical emergencies. Because of this, if you are injured in this type of accident, you may be able to hold the driver liable.

If you are injured or have a loved one killed in a vehicle accident, you should seek representation. Damages you obtain through a verdict or settlement can be used to help you recover.
