While making his way back home from a gig in North Carolina, Nashville comedian Brian Kiley’s Nissan Maxima was struck by another driver early morning on February 17, 2013. The force of the car crash propelled both vehicles off the interstate, overturning them in the process. While the other driver, 31-year-old Raul Herrera, was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Kiley died at the scene. Herrera has been charged with DWI.
Born and raised in New York, Kiley began his comedy career in Nashville after participating in Zanies Comedy Club’s “School of Laughs.” He debuted as a standup comic in 2007, gradually working his way into other regional comedy clubs such as Harvey’s South Street in Jackson, Side Splitters in Knoxville and The Comedy Catch in Chattanooga.
