La Verge Car Accident Ends With Fistfight

According to WTVF-TV, a tractor-trailer fire on Interstate 24 led to a foot chase and a fistfight between two drivers who were not involved in the original mishap on December 16.

WTVF reported that a tractor-trailer (big rig) caught on fire due to a fuel leak around 1 a.m., on I-24, near the Waldron Road exit in La Vergne. According to reports, the driver of the truck tried to make it to a nearby truck stop as the vehicle began to burn, but was not successful. He was not injured in the fire.

As traffic slowed because of the burning vehicle on the roadway, one driver allegedly rear-ended the driver of another vehicle. Instead of staying at the scene of the car accident, the driver attempted to run away. The driver of the other vehicle subsequently caught up with him and started fighting him.

According to WTVF, charges are pending for the skirmish.
