According to WTVF-TV, a 51-year-old man was killed in a car accident in Davidson County on December 14.

WTVF reported that Sammie Kinnard died in the crash, which occurred around 9:45 p.m. Kinnard was reportedly travelling west on Trinity Lane in a Cadillac Seville, when for unknown reasons, his car left the roadway and hit a utility pole.

Kinnard was ejected from the vehicle. The Metro Nashville Police Department said he died at the scene of the crash. The department said an investigation is ongoing and that it believes speeding may have been a contributing factor.

There was no evidence of drug or alcohol involvement, according to WTVF.
