Nashville Accident Injures Three, Including Famous Country Star

Iconic performer Dolly Parton was injured along with two others in a Nashville car accident on October 21. Parton, 67, was a passenger in an SUV driven by Judy Ogle, 68, that was traveling eastbound on Kirkwood Avenue when a car driven by Diane Lish, 64, pulled into the intersection and collided with the SUV. According to authorities, the initial investigation shows that Lish failed to yield.

Parton and Ogle were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for injuries. Lish was taken to Centennial Medical Center, also for injuries sustained in the accident. All parties, at the time of this report, were expected to make a full recovery.

According to the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security, more than 150,000 traffic accidents occur in the state every year, which is about 500 crashes per day. Only five years in the past 50 have had fewer than 1,000 people die in fatal car accidents.
