The television station reported that the accident happened on Old Hickory Boulevard, near the off ramp of Interstate 24, around 5:15 a.m. Police said that a 20-year-old woman driving the car was exiting Interstate 24 east onto Old Hickory Boulevard when she was t-boned by a pickup truck. The collision sent her vehicle 20 to 30 yards down the roadway, according to WTVF.

The woman was trapped under the steering wheel of the car following the collision. First responders were able to rescue her from the vehicle and she was transported to Skyline Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
