According to WVVA-TV, one person died and three people were injured in a Blount County car accident on December 28, 2013.

A release by the Blount County Sheriff’s Office said that Virginia H. Allison, 73, of Maryville, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Three other people, including Yvonne D. Hall, 47, and Keisha F. Beard, 16, both of Covington, Virginia, were transported via helicopter to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for injury treatment. Bailey Hall, 18, also of Covington, Virginia, was taken by Rural/Metro to U.T. Medical Center.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Hall was traveling west on U.S. Highway 321 in a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze when Allison, who was driving a 1997 Chevrolet Astro Van, pulled into the path of the Cruze. Allison was pulling out of Endsley Quarry Road to turn left onto U.S. Highway 321 when she pulled directly into the path of Hall’s vehicle, resulting in a crash.

The accident remains under investigation.
