According to WVTF-TV, three Wal-Mart employees were hurt in Putnam County after a vehicle plowed into an outdoor break area on December 21, 2013.

The Cookeville Police Department said the incident happened just after 6:30 p.m. at the Walmart located on Jefferson Avenue in Cookeville. Police said that the three employees were sitting under a metal canopy when a truck crashed into them. They said the vehicle’s headlights were off at the time of the crash.

The driver of the truck said that he had been “working all night and was tired from shopping all day”, following the crash. A child was also in the vehicle when the incident took place.

One of the employees struck was reportedly critically injured, while the other two employees suffered non-life threatening injuries. Police are continuing to investigate the accident.
