The station reported that a two-vehicle accident occurred on Highway 52 in Lafayette at around 11 p.m. Officials told WKRN that Devon Speight, 22, was driving eastbound on the highway when his vehicle crossed the center line and struck a car going westbound.

Both vehicles came to rest on the highway. Speight and his passenger, Kelsey Garner, 22, died in the crash. The driver of the other vehicle, Eric Holland, 40, was injured, although, as of last week the severity of his injuries were not known.

The accident remains under investigation. Speight was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
