All of the major interstates in Nashville were impacted by accidents. From 5 to 7 a.m., there were 125 crashes in Metro Nashville. In one crash, near Charlotte Avenue and Interstate 40, more than 10 vehicles were involved.

Other accidents reported included:

  • A 12-car accident on Interstate 65 northbound at Mile Marker 59
  • A multi-car pileup on Interstate 65, near S.R. 840 in Franklin
  • Several other crashes that were reported on S.R. 840 in Rutherford County

According to the Tennessean, more than an inch of snow fell in the Metro-area during the overnight hours.

As the weather outside changes over the upcoming months, make sure that you prepare for potential road hazards including ice, snow and rain. In order to avoid a car accident, you should decrease your speed in poor driving conditions and leave yourself plenty of room to stop.
