Truck accidents can be devastating, especially when they involve charter buses or vehicles carrying large groups of people.

Tragically, last month, a tractor-trailer operated out of Nashville by Quickway Transportation was involved in an accident in Oklahoma, hitting a bus carrying a softball team from North Central Texas College.

Four members of the team were killed in the crash, and 11 people were injured. The driver of the truck involved in the crash reportedly crossed into oncoming traffic on Interstate 35, outside of the city of Davis.

The victims in the crash were identified as Katelynn Woodlee, 18, Meagan Richardson, 18, Brooke Deckard, 20, and Jaiden Pelton, 20.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is continuing to investigate the accident.

KTXA-TV reported that over the last two years, Quickway Transportation drivers were involved in 35 crashes, with 20 resulting in injuries. The news outlet reported that sadly, the company has only a $1 million insurance policy to cover accidents, leading to outrage in the community.

Unfortunately, KTXA said that it is common for transportation companies to have inadequate insurance coverage, and that if sued, they often begin operating under other names in an attempt to remain open once they are squeezed out of money through lawsuits.

CAN I FILE A WRONGFUL DEATH LAWSUIT FOLLOWING A TRUCK ACCIDENT?

Our attorney has obtained million dollar verdicts and settlements for the family members of victims in wrongful death lawsuits.

This money can help pay for funeral expenses and costs related to medical care. Call us today if you have lost a loved one, because in a trucking accident—the operator and/or the driver should be held liable for the loss of your loved one.
