Murfreesboro Car Accident Injures Two

According to the Clarksville Leaf-Chronicle, a four-car accident on February 24 in Murfreesboro left two people seriously injured.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) told the paper that one driver was taken by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville and another driver was taken to Vanderbilt by ambulance following the crash.

The accident occurred at 6:40 a.m., on Franklin Road at Coleman Hill Road. “It appears a sanitation truck traveling eastbound was stopped on Highway 96 to service a residence,” Dalya Qualls, a representative for the THP told the Leaf-Chronicle.

“A driver of another vehicle, which was traveling eastbound, was apparently blinded by the sunlight and struck the truck from the rear,” Qualls said. “That vehicle was then struck by a third vehicle from the rear. A fourth vehicle, which was traveling westbound, sustained damage due to the debris from the eastbound crash.”

One of the workers was transported to Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital, according to the THP. The driver of the vehicle that struck the sanitation truck was injured and transported by ambulance to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. In addition, the driver of the vehicle that rear ended the passenger car was taken by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt, according to the Leaf-Chronicle. The driver of the fourth vehicle was not injured.
